Samuel Austin (1760-1830), Congregational minister, was graduated from Yale College in 1783 and was a New-Light disciple of Jonathan Edwards. He first preached at the Fair Haven Church in New Haven, Conn., from 1786 to 1790; from 1790 until his dissociation in 1818, Austin served as minister at the First Congregational Church in Worcester, Mass.
